Dear God,
I wonder if you can you tell that the ‘better' I get, the worse I really am; no else seems to notice. Is this all a part of your plan? If so, your plan is pretty sadistic and screwed up.
You know, God, I'm thinking about giving up. The only thing stopping me is my doubt over whether it will be any better with you. Will it?
K, Vancouver, Canada
This letter to God was written by a young mother in Vancouver, Canada but to be honest with you it could have been a letter written by myself or Crystal or even John. There are times when life is that difficult - for all of us.
This week, John will be talking about a nurturing, caring love that God has for us - a maternal love similar to that between a mother and child for we are in fact all children of God. Now I have issues with this topic because, if I'm to be honest with you, I didn't grow up with a nurturing mother figure and so I've intensely curious to hear what John has to say this week at True North.
I invite you, you who are broken-hearted, who have had nurture issues, who have trust issues, I invite you who are desperate and thinking about giving up. Please, come join me in listening to what John has to say this Sunday - who we are in God through Christ, a new creation ... welcome Child of God.
Blessings,

Not height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8:39)

Nothing - really and truly nothing - can separate us from God's love! Isn't that amazing?! I've been to the Grand Canyon and saw its depth and breadth and height - this very image is the vastness of God's love for us, for me! Look at this picture and receive a whole new meaning to the enormity of God's love - He will never ever leave us! Ever!
If you are feeling lost and alone in the middle of a chaotic life, remember that YOU MATTER and please know that there is nothing that can separate you from the love of Abba Father! He is there ... right beside you, helping you to find your way home.
Rom. 8:38-39, For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death, nor life, neither angels, nor demons, neither our fears for today, nor our worries about tomorrow - not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. Not height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
